This course will cover the essential things you need to know regarding nutrition for cancer patients. Topics to be included are nutrition screening and assessment in the oncology setting, nutrition tips for managing side effects, well-being for cancer survivors and current evidence regarding nutrition and cancer prevention. Participants will leave this session with tangible tools and tips to use with clients.
Upon successful completion of this two-hour course, the participant should be able to:
- Identify 3 common side effects for people facing cancer.
- Identify nutrition related strategies to assist in managing common cancer related side effects.
- Identify 3 common cancer nutrition myths and the corresponding truths.
- Identify one current recommendation regarding diet for cancer survivors.
