3 Important Program Updates from Your Cancer Dietitian!

November 12, 2021 By Julie Lanford MPH, RD, CSO, LDN

I wanted to make you aware of these 3 (well, I guess it’s really 4!) programs/resources that I think you might enjoy!

1. Eat the Rainbow WINTER EDITION!

I am so excited to announce that our next Eat the Rainbow Fruit & Veggie Challenge will start Monday, Nov 29th and take you through Valentine’s Day! Intern Kate worked hard on updating the information and we have some new recipes to go with what produce is available in winter.

You don’t want to miss this! Get more information at www.cancerdietitian.com/rainbow

2. Make Ahead Holiday Recipes

I presented a webinar this week for Triage Cancer titled Make Ahead Holiday Recipes that nourish your Body & Soul. I created a “cliff notes” blog post version on this page: www.cancerdietitian.com/holidayrecipes. I thought you might like to peruse the information as you plan for Thanksgiving!

I’ll also put a link to the recording there, as soon as I have it!

3. Wellness Wednesday Zoom on 11/17 at 4pm!

I am hosting another wellness sampler next Wednesday at 4pm! This month we have two special guests from Hirsch Wellness, Ash Poirier and Susanne Baker. We will be doing mindfulness practices as well as Suminagashi (Suminagashi is a Japanese paper marbling technique). I would love to have you join me!

Wednesday November 17th 4:00 – 5:30 pm
Register Here!

This collaborative monthly series with Cancer Services and Hirsch Wellness will be cohosted by Julie Lanford and a Hirsch artist! Each program will feature Julie exploring a topic of interest and a Hirsch artist presenting an art or wellness activity.

Thinking Ahead to 2022!

I also wanted to make you aware that in January I will be hosting a Mindful Eating webinar on Jan 20th at 7:30pm. If you would like to register for that, here’s the registration page. Our special guest will be Dietitian Jane Anderson, who works at Body in Mind Nutrition in Winston-Salem, NC.

Hope to see you soon!
