Mindful Eating During the Holidays, Gratitude for YOU & Cancer Dietitian Memories!

November 23, 2022 By Julie Lanford MPH, RD, CSO, LDN

Gratitude First! Wow, that's a lot of pictures of me haha! But anyway, I am so grateful for all of you Cancer Dietitian followers, near and far! Cancer Services treated me to a fun and delicious "Birthday Party" in our parking lot with The Grinder coffee truck and several friends came by. Sorry to the first few, the early birds, who I forgot to get a picture with! And to Janie, who my dietitian friends and I scared off with "poop talk" - I didn't get a picture with her … [Read more...]

November 9, 2021 By Julie Lanford MPH, RD, CSO, LDN

What’s Most Important About Holiday Meals? For some of you, like me, this year has tested our resolve to find something positive in … [Read more...]

A little over a week ago I taught my last Cook to Thrive! Survivorship cooking class for 2019. It’s part of our programs at Cancer Services, the non-profit I work for. Cook to Thrive! was a series of 4 classes that I taught once a month since August. It was a lot of work, but so worth it! If you missed the recipes from some of my past classes, you can check them out here: More Salad in a Jar Recipes! Thai Chicken Salad, Greek Chickpea Salad and Pesto Salad! Taco … [Read more...]

Garlic & Chives Mashed Potatoes – Delicious Even With Skin On!

November 18, 2019 By Julie Lanford MPH, RD, CSO, LDN

Garlic & Chive Mashed Potatoes with SKIN ON for extra nutrition! This recipe really is from my Aunt Donna! I changed it a little bit, just adding extra garlic and extra chives and I do like to leave the skin on my potatoes, people seem to like them just as well that way. You will need to make sure to scrub them really well with a vegetable brush and cut off any bad spots before cooking them. The other change I made was to use Greek cream cheese, because it increases the … [Read more...]
