Cancer Dietitian Thanksgiving Menu with Recipes

November 26, 2013 By Julie Lanford MPH, RD, CSO, LDN

This year my husband and I are hosting Thanksgiving. We each have our own recipes that we love to make, so it's a joint effort in making the meal happen. And of course, the most important thing about Thanksgiving is being with friends and family. The food is just the cherry on top! For more on my thoughts about holiday eating, check out this article that I wrote last year: 5 Simple Holiday Eating Tips! The Menu In our house, we're not big turkey people. The ‘Good Enough’ Strategy for Eating Healthy

September 13, 2013 By Julie Lanford MPH, RD, CSO, LDN

And I'm not a fan of powdered versions of anything. But I needed to check into the facts to see what I could find out. Here's what … [Read more...]

What’s Wrong With the American Eating Pattern? Dietitians Rant!

July 15, 2011 By Julie Lanford MPH, RD, CSO, LDN

In my last article, i quoted some oncology dietitians. It's always fun for me to have conversations with other cancer dietitians because it's like a little support group. It's people who know what you're going through and have experienced it themselves! I quoted Suzanne Dixon, MPH, MS, RD in the last article. As we were sharing thoughts on the celiac diet, we shared a rant. I LOVE how Suzanne worded this and thought you all might enjoy as well! All of the information in … [Read more...]
