Coconut Oil Part 2! Follow-up and more discussion.

February 6, 2015 By Julie Lanford MPH, RD, CSO, LDN

We had a good response to the last article on coconut oil! The responses actually had us (mainly Lora!) doing even more digging into what we know and don't know about coconut oil, it's composition and how different fats break down in the body. I try to keep my information based on evidence, rather than persuasion. [FYI - to date I have never been paid to talk, write or promote any food … [Read more...]

Making Resolutions You Can Keep!

January 14, 2014 By Julie Lanford MPH, RD, CSO, LDN

Now that you know what NOT to do for New Year's resolutions, let's talk about how to do it right! In order for your resolutions to be effective, they need to be specific and realistic. Always run them by a friend, since they can tell you if your goal is realistic for you or not. Short term goals are ones that you would achieve in a week or a month. Long term goals are ones that take 4 months or longer to achieve. Long term goals require several short term goals along the way. … [Read more...]
