Plant Based Diets for Cancer Survivors: Webinar Recording and Take Home Points!

July 17, 2020 By Julie Lanford MPH, RD, CSO, LDN

Last week I presented my Plant Based Diets for Cancer Survivors webinar.

It was AWESOME and all the participants were really great. I think it was my largest webinar group yet and I loved all the questions and comments in the chat. It was so fun, almost like we were all in a room together talking!

One of the comments from a participant was:

“This is the best presentation I have ever seen on nutrition. Julie is down to earth, great presentation and I can’t wait to share this recording and have her slides. Thank you, Thank you!”

So if that’s not enough reason to watch, then I don’t have anything else to convince you ha!

And no, I did not pay them to say that. : – P

Here is the chart comparing 5 Plant Based eating patterns that I recommend. You can follow one of these, or make up your own that fits the core elements of all of them!

What are the core elements of all of them? I’m glad you asked!

Core Elements of a Plant Based Diet:

  • Fruits and vegetables (4-5 cups a day combined)
  • Plant proteins at least once a day (beans, nuts, seeds)
  • 100% whole grains (2-3 cups a day)
  • Flavor with herbs & spices

If you choose to consume animal products, (which is perfectly healthy in moderation!):

  • Dairy up to 3 servings a day
  • Fish 2-5x a week
  • Meat up to 6 oz a day average (less than 18 oz a week of red meat)

I hope you find this information helpful!
