Plant Based Eating for Cancer Survivors Do’s and Don’ts WEBINAR RECORDING

February 20, 2018 By Julie Lanford MPH, RD, CSO, LDN

Plant-based Eating for Cancer Survivors Do's and Don'ts

A plant-based diet has been shown to improve health, help your body function at its best, and save money! Many cancer survivors and cancer caregivers have heard that plant-based eating is recommended, but they aren’t sure exactly what it means or how to know if they are doing it. While plant-based doesn’t mean you have to exclude meat, it does mean including plenty of disease fighting plant foods. Watch this fun and informative webinar to learn practical and tasty ways to transition to more plant-based meals.

I did this webinar for Triage Cancer, so they do an intro and my part starts at about 3:30. FYI!

For Julie Langford: My husband was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer three years ago. He had a radical prostatectomy by a fine surgeon trained at Johns Hopkins. His PSA initially was 0.03. Currently it has edged up to 0.32. We are at a “watch and wait “ plan. I might add my husband is 75 and in excellent health as he has been a runner since 32 and has eaten in the last 25 years a balanced diet of fresh food with few sugars, alcohol or snacks. Your Plant Based Eating Do/Don’t lecture was very informative and I am appreciate. Your name was mentioned to me by my cousin, Alan Ruley’s wife, Kate. I am interested in foods that would be especially appropriate for my husband, considering his age and medical history. Cordially, Lois H. Gerig. PS I assume the reply will come to my email address?

I don’t do individual consults, so I recommend you find a dietitian in your area you can work one on one with. You can search at http://www.eatright.org.
